1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Though I was born in the Bay Area, I spent 1st grade through undergrad (Lewis + Clark – go Pioneers!) in Oregon before moving back to the Bay Area.  This has given me a complex about whether I am Oregonian or Californian. Either way, I don’t use umbrellas. Other than that, I’m a creative at heart. Be it photography, web design, graphic design, cooking, music, or family traditions I’m all in. I spend my weekends hiking, playing games with my family, hitting the farmers markets, and making huge family meals.

2. What is one thing about you that might surprise people?

I have recently come to the conclusion that neither hairspray nor the color pink are so bad after all. I’m still not a huge fan of either, but neither of them are the root of all evil as I’ve long believed.

3. What is your role at Relola?

I co-founded Relola with Heather and am the CPO (Chief Product Officer).  My job includes designing the entire User Interface and Experience for Relola, working with the engineering team to get everything built, liaising with customer success to make sure the suggestions and requests of our users get into the production schedule, and dreaming up new and amazing ways that Relola can knock peoples’ socks off.

4. What do you see as the biggest problem in Real Estate today?

Real Estate online doesn’t function the way the rest of the online world works. In nearly every other industry, crowdsourcing is the name of the game – meaning that I can read what people have to say about that pair of boots I’m coveting and hear the voices of patrons of a restaurant I’m considering going to BEFORE buying them or going to them. But for Real Estate, I can’t learn the thoughts and opinions of the agents who have visited the properties I’m interested in without randomly calling agents hoping to find one who has been to the property and…. uh oh.  I just had another idea. Off I go to start designing it.

5. How is Relola solving this problem?

Relola will not only bring Real Estate into the 21st century by giving potential buyers the kind of crowdsourced information they have become accustomed to in every other avenue of online life, but will also allow agents to show potential buyers (a) how hard they work, (b) the properties they have been to,  (c) their areas of expertise and (d) their personality. One of my favorite things about Relola is the ability to learn more about each agent than their brokerage and phone number. On Relola, I can find out what their personality is like, what matters to them, and why they do what they do.

6. If you had a unicorn, what would you name it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
